How it works

We designed an innovative curriculum that helps young students improve their academic skills. Based on five years of research, the Toones methodology teaches "Academic Music" — students connect ideas through music and learn to excel in math. Learning through play is an essential component of our curriculum. Toones Academic Music targets children between the ages of 5 and 10 to help them discover how music and play advances their math skills, especially their mastery of fractions.

Practice

Students continue to work on new pieces, receive additional help as needed, and enjoy playing pieces already learned. The students play for each other at the end of practice; this teaches them to be good listeners and peers by offering positive critique and support. As with lining up for the body percussion, virtual piano and recorder, there is never a lack of volunteers to play for one’s friends!
